Description

MBX sludge discharge valves are used efficiently and effectively to extract sludge from boilers. Their design eliminates sludge and saves water, chemicals and fuel. They are EXTREMELY RESISTANT valves. Their use will have the lowest cost and the highest benefit. They can be operated automatically by means of a pneumatic actuator or manually by means of a lever.

Why extract the sludge?

In steam generators, sludge extraction is carried out to prevent the formation of scale on components and tube sheets, providing greater heat exchange efficiency and generator service life.

Boiler feed water can come from various sources and in most cases contains impurities that need to be removed to prevent scaling of components, which is why they are subjected to chemical treatment to eliminate these.

Chemical treatment causes these impurities (suspended solids) to settle, settling at the bottom of the components (cylindrical body and collectors) in the form of sludge, so that they can be removed by bottom discharges, preventing their accumulation, which can cause serious and irreversible damage to the equipment if not removed.

What is the best type of Bottom Discharge Valve?

What is the best type of Bottom Discharge Valve?

Efficiency and effectiveness in discharge

MBX bottom discharge valves, due to their construction form, provide greater thrust, generating greater drag and removal of deposited solid waste (sludge), ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the bottom discharge process.

Saving treated water

Due to their construction, MBX bottom discharge valves have significantly lower flow coefficients compared to globe and ball valves, approximately between 50% and 75%, providing savings in water, chemicals, fuels and energy.
